I am not comfortable with people who are out to create a revolution just for the sake of creating a revolution. Same goes for dynamism. Dynamism and revolution are the means to an end. The end, is changing the way of living of mankind so that Allah(swt) is pleased with us. Now, this begs the following question: Is a revolution even a prerequisite to this 'end'? Not a definite answer.
Or maybe the term 'revolution' just bothers me. Not because Im an old fashioned grandpa yearning for security but rather, because revolution tends to require tremendous energy and effort. The fruit of all this is not always sweet or even worse, worth the pain.
Now, some people are adamant that they are 'born' revolutionaries. It's in their blood to be different they say (which again means i should ask if being different necessates being revolutionary, but i'll let that go for now). Sure. But does this necessarily need to be translated over to islam? Does Islam as the point of our lives require the stamp of revolution? (Salafi Dawah anyone?) Of course, this all depends on what your definition of revolution is. Even if you can get a definition down, theres the question of how long and using what means you'll bring about this revolution. What if you disagree on how long, what means... and so on and so on... and before you know it, you're back to square one.
I despise relativity. Especially after my philosophy class. Give me absoluteness anyday (well, depends on.. ARG! stop yourself mudasser!)
I wonder why I bother with all this. Yes mars, action is needed. Revolution will follow naturally (if required of course ;-) )
Most incoherent blog entry ever!
[edit: I just noticed how ironic this entry is compared to my last one. Way to be a loudmouth hypocrite Goldi, way to go!]
